A door that will not latch is a small thing that irritates you several times a day, which is exactly why it never gets fixed. It is also usually a twenty-minute job — the strike plate has moved, the hinges have dropped, or the frame has swelled.
Most people call about one door and we end up doing five, because once you are there with the chisel it costs almost nothing to do the rest. Ask us about the others while we are in the house.

Why Tampa is different
Tampa humidity moves wood on a seasonal cycle. A door that closed perfectly in February binds at the top in August, and the instinct is to plane it — which then leaves a gap all winter. The right fix is usually the hinges, not the door, and it is reversible.
Anywhere near the bay, salt in the air destroys cheap hardware quickly. Standard interior-grade finishes on an exterior handleset will pit and stain within a couple of Florida years. On exterior doors we fit hardware rated for coastal exposure, and it costs a little more once instead of a little less three times.
Weatherstripping is the one people skip, and in this climate it is not really about draughts. It is about keeping conditioned air in and humidity out. A front door with a failed sweep runs your AC harder all summer and lets damp into the entry, which is where you then get the mildew smell nobody can locate.
Questions
Can you install a smart lock?
Yes, on an existing door prep. Most smart deadbolts fit a standard bore, so it is a straight swap. If your door has no deadbolt bore at all, that is drilling a new opening and we will quote it as such.
My sliding glass door is impossible to move. Can you fix it?
Usually. It is almost always the rollers, which are a wear item, or a track full of two decades of grit. Both are fixable. If the frame itself is out of square that is a bigger job and we will tell you honestly.
Do you rekey locks?
We install and replace locks and can fit matched-key sets. For rekeying existing cylinders you want a locksmith, and we will happily say so rather than take the job.
