Ceiling fans and light fixtures
Like-for-like replacement on existing wiring and existing boxes. Balanced properly, remote paired, and the old unit taken away.
From$165
In Tampa a ceiling fan is not decoration. It is the difference between setting the thermostat at 76 and setting it at 72, across an eight-month cooling season, which is real money.
We replace fans and fixtures where wiring and a box already exist. That is a defined, legal scope of work and we stay inside it deliberately — a new circuit, a new location or a panel change goes to a licensed electrician, and we will tell you that on the phone rather than after we have opened the ceiling.

Why Tampa is different
The thing that catches people out in Tampa is the box. A lot of 1980s Florida construction has a standard lighting box in the ceiling, which is fine for a light fixture and is not rated to carry the weight and vibration of a fan. If yours is not a fan-rated box, hanging a fan on it is genuinely unsafe, and we will not do it — that is a brace-and-box job, and depending on how it is wired it may be an electrician's.
We check that before quoting anything, which is why we ask what is up there now. If the existing fixture is a fan, the box is almost certainly rated. If you are going from a light to a fan for the first time, assume it needs upgrading until we have looked.
The other Tampa detail is blade pitch and direction. Running counter-clockwise in summer pushes air down and makes the room feel several degrees cooler; a lot of houses here have been running backwards for years without anyone noticing. We set it correctly before we leave and show you the switch.
Questions
Why will you not install a fan where there is no fixture now?
Because running a new circuit or adding a new ceiling location is electrical contracting, and doing that without a license in Florida is a criminal offense, not a technicality. Replacing an existing fixture on existing wiring is a different thing and is within scope.
Do you supply the fan?
You buy the fan you want and we fit it, or tell us the room size and we will tell you what to buy. We do not mark up fans, so you are not paying us to shop.
My fan wobbles. Is that fixable or does it need replacing?
Almost always fixable. It is usually a blade balance issue or a loose mounting bracket, and it is a short visit. A fan that wobbles badly enough to be heard downstairs is worth dealing with before the bracket fatigues.
